Enabling Legislation

On April 7, 2005, the Legislature passed Local Law No. 4-2005, which established the Commission, specified its purview and how members were to be appointed, and instructed that the Commission deliver its final report by April 15, 2006.

On December 1, 2005, the Legislature adopted Local Law No. 10-2005, which extended the deadline for the Commission’s report to July 15, 2006.
